What Will I Learn?
Technique, communication, history,
anatomy—so much goes into success as a fitness instructor. Even more than
many styles of exercise, Pilates requires not just ability but knowledge
and effective communication in order to teach. We will give you the tools,
the skills, the knowledge and the confidence to be a Pilates instructor
who is in demand and successful!
What
will I learn?
- The history behind
Pilates.
- The basic
anatomy of the Pilates method.
- Names and descriptions of all
exercises.
- The reasoning behind
and benefits of each Pilates move.
- What your
clients should feel in the short term, and see in the long term.
- How to use verbal and tactile
cues to guide your clients.
- How to communicate with your
clients. (Exercise alone is not enough! Exercise
and effective use of language
are critical for success.)
- How to teach a Pilates class.
- How to incorporate Pilates into
Yoga, aerobics, or other group fitness classes.
